Preventing Gum Disease

To prevent gum disease in pregnancy all pregnant women should receive at least two thorough dental cleanings during pregnancy.

Maintaining good oral hygiene at home is also important, here are some tips:

-brush twice a day for at least five minutes
-floss once a day or use an anti-bacterial mouthwash to get rid of plaque
-and avoid eating large amounts of refined sugar – this will cut down on tartar buildup
