Should Siblings Attend The Birth?

Many parents contemplate whether or not to have their children present at their birth. Most midwives believe that having children attend the birth of their siblings will help them handle the new experience in a healthier way.

On the other hand a mother may feel that presence of her child could distract her ability to have a happy birth experience. It’s important to talk to your child about attending the birth and see how they react to the idea, make sure they’re comfortable with it. Most experts suggest waiting until the child is 3 before letting him or her attend the birth.
